DONATION RULES

【Notice】According to the regulations of NYSLECC, all donors are required to personally come and sign, stamp, and collect the tax refund invoice from NYSLECC. NYSLECC strictly prohibits any acts of proxy signing or proxy collection of item invoices that infringe upon the privacy rights of others. Please refer to the specific amount and collection date on the tax refund invoice.

We sincerely appreciate your support and donations to NYSLECC. We would like to propose a suggestion for future donations, which is to make them in the form of checks or money orders. This approach benefits both our members and NYSLECC. Here are our reasons:

1. Improved donation tracking: Checks or money orders provide detailed information about the payer and the amount, making it easier for us to track the donations. This helps ensure that the funds are used for the intended purposes and maintains organizational transparency.

2. Convenient for federal tax purposes: Checks or money orders are formal payment methods that provide accurate records of the donations. This enables us to conveniently submit relevant documents to the federal tax authorities, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

3. Peace of mind and prevention of embezzlement: By requiring the organization's stamp, non-profit identification number, and the president's signature on donation receipts, we can ensure the legitimacy and authenticity of the donations. This instills confidence in all members and helps prevent any potential issues of embezzlement.

We hope that you can understand and support this suggestion. We believe that making donations in this manner will bring more benefits and safeguards to our organization and members.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

NYSLECC Shields must be renewed annually, coinciding with membership renewal.

  1. Membership ID & Badge Ownership: The Member acknowledges that the personal identification ID and badge (hereinafter referred to as the "Badge") issued by NYSLECC remain the property of NYSLECC at all times. The Badge is provided exclusively for the purpose of membership identification. Members are strictly prohibited from selling or renting any NYSLECC property.

  2. Ownership and Legal Action: The Member recognizes that the Badge is the sole property of the New York State Law Enforcement & Community Council (NYSLECC). Failure to return the Badge within 7 days, either upon revocation, suspension, termination of volunteer service, or upon the organization's request, grants NYSLECC the authority to take legal action against the Member to recover the Badge and seek associated damages. NYSLECC also reserves the right to provide further explanation regarding the Badge, as necessary.

  3. Receipt of Returned Badge: Upon returning the Badge, the Member acknowledges that a receipt will be issued by a representative of NYSLECC.
