Providing Support and Assistance to Community Members
Dear Community Residents,
The NYSLECC is dedicated to not only assisting law enforcement agencies but also supporting and addressing the needs of community members. If you have any questions or concerns regarding legal or governmental matters, we are here to offer help and support. While we may not be able to answer all questions or be flawless, we will make every effort to find answers and assist you.
Additionally, we are actively seeking volunteers. If you would like to contribute to the community, we welcome your participation in our volunteer activities. We will provide you with knowledge about laws and procedures and guide you on how to help and resolve issues facing every communities. We understand the challenges of language barriers in a foreign land and are willing to work with you to solve problems.
The NYSLECC is committed to not discriminating against any identity, whether you are a citizen, green card holder, undocumented, or hold an A5 card (if you have a valid New York State driver's license, you are also welcome to participate). Background checks will be conducted for every member. If you have a criminal record, please apply for a criminal record report from the court and submit it to us. The Council will decide your eligibility for participation through a voting process.
For undocumented individuals But holding a New York State driver's license, your membership ID card will indicate "Temporary Resident." If you accumulate over 500 hours of volunteer service with the NYSLECC , we will provide you with a letter of recommendation.
It is worth mentioning that the NYSLECC is a recognized nonprofit organization by the state of New York and the federal government (501(c)(3)). Your donations are tax-deductible. You can find our relevant information on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website.
