Mission of the New York State Law Enforcement & Community Council (NYSLECC)
The New York State Law Enforcement & Community Council (NYSLECC) is committed to helping communities and the younger generation stay away from organized crime. Through education, awareness campaigns, and support programs, NYSLECC guides individuals on how to avoid involvement in criminal activities and effectively respond to harassment or threats. Additionally, NYSLECC works closely with local businesses to build a bridge of mutual assistance between law enforcement and the community, offering legal consultation on criminal and immigration issues.
Department Responsibilities
1. CID (Criminal Investigation Department)
Key Responsibilities:

Investigate major criminal activities such as human trafficking, missing persons, and vehicle theft.

Address community issues related to sexual harassment and school bullying.
Key Initiatives:

Implement anti-gang awareness campaigns in collaboration with federal and state law enforcement agencies.

Provide youth assistance and business support programs.

Organize youth volunteer activities.

Assist the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Coordinate federal resources to respond to domestic emergencies, including natural disasters and terrorist attacks, and manage their aftermath.
2. CAD (Community Affairs Department)
Key Responsibilities:
o Communicating with businesses and residents to share safety information.
o Recruiting community volunteers and addressing safety concerns.
Major Programs:
o Offering youth academic-term community service and public welfare activities, ensuring 24 hours of accumulated service.
o Recognizing youth and adults exceeding volunteer hour requirements with the Community
o President’s Volunteer Service Award, issued by NYSLECC.

NYSLECC works closely with law enforcement agencies to maintain community safety and foster a harmonious society. Through collaborative efforts, the council aims to create a safe, stable, and supportive environment for residents while empowering the younger generation to become active and positive contributors to the future.

Providing Support and Assistance to Community Members
Dear Community Residents,
The New York State Law Enforcement and Community Council is dedicated to not only assisting law enforcement agencies but also supporting and addressing the needs of community members. If you have any questions or concerns regarding legal or governmental matters, we are here to offer help and support. While we may not be able to answer all questions or be flawless, we will make every effort to find answers and assist you.
Additionally, we are actively seeking volunteers. If you would like to contribute to the community, we welcome your participation in our volunteer activities. We will provide you with knowledge about laws and procedures and guide you on how to help and resolve issues facing every communities. We understand the challenges of language barriers in a foreign land and are willing to work with you to solve problems.
The New York State Law Enforcement and Community Council is committed to not discriminating against any identity, whether you are a citizen, green card holder, undocumented, or hold an A5 card (if you have a valid New York State driver's license, you are also welcome to participate). Background checks will be conducted for every member. If you have a criminal record, please apply for a criminal record report from the court and submit it to us. The Council will decide your eligibility for participation through a voting process.
For undocumented individuals But holding a New York State driver's license, your membership ID card will indicate "Temporary Resident." If you accumulate over 500 hours of volunteer service with the New York State Law Enforcement and Community Council, we will provide you with a letter of recommendation.
It is worth mentioning that the New York State Law Enforcement and Community Council is a recognized nonprofit organization by the state of New York and the federal government (501(c)(3)). Your donations are tax-deductible. You can find our relevant information on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website.
